Washington State Jail Guard Trades Cookies for Sex with Inmate

A former Snohomish County corrections deputy has been charged with providing homemade chocolate chip cookies in exchange for sexual favors from a female inmate.

58 year-old Abner Canda was been put on administrative leave in January after video surveillance corroborated the story of a 22 year-old inmate who said she was "ashamed for my actions. That’s why I’m saying something.”

Prosecutors filed a custodial sexual misconduct charge against Canda on Tuesday.

Canda has been employed with the Sherriff's Office since 2007.
