Now in the past I've pointed out the 10 Most Dangerous Neighborhoods in Seattle, but I do mention how there are a lot of great people in those areas. Let's take a look at the areas in Seattle, where the good points outnumber the negative ones in almost every area.

AreaVibes.com takes a look at the "Livability" of the different neighborhoods in Seattle. They look at things like total population, crime rate, education, cost of living, activities like shopping and parks, and then compares it with a Seattle average to determine the top neighborhoods.

#10 - Montlake: Population: 2,009

Livability rating at 80% with crime rates 42% lower than the Seattle average. Real estate prices are 76% higher with rental prices 61% lower than the Seattle average.

#9 - Madison Valley: Population: 1,789

Livability rating sits at 80% with crime rates 56% lower than the Seattle average. When it comes to real estate prices, they are 9% higher than the Seattle average, with rental prices 1% higher than the average.

#8 - Windermere: Population: 1,616

Livability at 80% with crime rates 63% lower than the Seattle average. Real estate prices are 102% higher than the Seattle average, with rental prices 3% lower than the Seattle average.

The livability rate is 80% with crime rates 66% lower than the Seattle average. Real estate prices are 42% higher and rental prices 22% lower than the Seattle average.

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here.
