Notable Deaths in Fiction: 2018

This is the time of the year that we look back and feel sad all over again for the people who we have lost this past year. Celebrity greats like Stan Lee, Stephen Hawking, Aretha Franklin, Dolores O'Riordan (The Cranberries), Burt Reynolds, & Verne Troyer among many many others.

No one really talks about the deaths of the characters that we love so much. Like how Lorca (played by Jason Isaacs) got stabbed in the heart on Star Trek: Discovery. Or how Dede (Shelley Long) passed away from natural causes in Modern Family. Or how Batwoman killed Clayface (for a time) in Batman: Detective Comics #974. But the more and more I started researching, I realized... with shows on Netflix/Hulu/Amazon all seeming to follow in Game of Thrones footsteps... a lot of characters died this year. So I figured I'd just round them all together, thanks to one big purple goal oriented individual. Thank you Thanos for snapping your fingers and making half of the fictional universe cease to exist.

Will things be put right in May when Avengers: End Game comes out? If it does, my "RIP Characters in 2019" blog will be much more difficult to write. We shall see. So for half of the fictional universe... R.I.P. Did you survive the snap of Thanos? Click here to find out!
