Another holiday treat? Nope, this is something that can be enjoyed at all times of the year... if you do enjoy it.

I'm trying really hard to eat less junk food and dessert-type snacks, but then I see something like these Reese's Cup Cakes, and my brain immediately goes, 'FOR SCIENCE!'

Taste Test of Reese's Peanut Butter Flavored Cupcakes.

When I first saw this, I was so excited.

Then I took the first bite, and the excitement left.

It wasn't bad, but I didn't get the Reese's peanut butter-type cake feeling I was hoping for. Maybe I set the bar too high for this, but after the Reese's Animal Crackers I recently enjoyed, I expected so much from these.

I will say the cake itself was moister than standard Hostess cupcakes, and it tasted fine, but when you're expecting Reese's taste, and you don't get it, you're bummed.

Much like every other 'peanut butter CUP' this time of year.

My partner in crime and taste testing, Stephanie, helped me with this science of the taste buds. She admitted that she was not a huge fan of chocolate cake, but she tried it. Her thought?

Final Thoughts On Reese's Peanut Butter Flavored Cupcakes.

If these were sitting side by side with a box of hostess cupcakes, I'd pick these up for sure, mainly because of how soft and moist they were.

Based on taste alone, they were fine, not better or worse than any other cupcake I've had.
