‘Senior Citizen Drive Thru’
Thankfully, we don't have to worry as much about certain things like we did in the beginning of the pandemic. Remember the great Toilet Paper Shortage of 2020? It seems like just yesterday, even though it was about 3 months ago. Some things are starting to get back to normal, while others aren't. Masks are still required when going into public places. Restaurants are still very limited on how, what, when and who they can serve. Store hours have changed, making getting what you need some times tricky, especially for our older loved ones. Some stores like Costco, offered special hours for people only 60 and older to do shopping, but as things slowly get back to normal, those senior benefits are slowly going away.
Luckily, if you do need help, the Yakima Senior Network Group along with other Yakima groups like Health Alliance Northwest & People for People will be offering a Senior Citizen Drive Thru event for Yakima Senior Citizens in hopes to keep them stocked in essential items. The curbside pick up event will be on Wednesday, July 29th from 9:00am to 11:00am at the YMCA Parking Lot located at 3800 River Road in Yakima. Seniors will be help to stay safe and sane through the difficult time that we're all experiencing right now. A curbside and contactless handout will include such items as Reusable grocery bag filled with brain teasers, masks, gloves, toilet paper, sanitizer and many more goodies to help you keep going!
