I expected this from my wife bringing me dinner at work, but not from an Uber driver or any other type of delivery person! A new study shows that 28% of delivery drivers have taken food from an order they are delivering. And 54% say they have been tempted because of the great-smelling food. All this time, I just thought the restaurant shorted me on fries!

How did the study come to be? Well a company, US Foods, did a study that covered 1,518 American adults who have used (497 who worked for) food delivery apps, such as UberEats, Grubhub, DoorDash during mid-May.

The study also found that:

  • 17% of customers complained their food was not warm or fresh.
  • 16% of customers complained hat their food was delivered late.
  • 60% of drivers complained of little or no tip.
  • 39% of drivers had issues with unclear instructions from the customer.

So next time you think your fries box isn't quite full, ask yourself if your driver is one of the 28%!
