Twinkies Candy Canes Are In Yakima! Should You Put This On Your Tree?
When it comes to Christmas candy, I'm a traditionalist. If it isn't peppermint, you can just take your merry little [EXPLETIVE DELETED] out of my red and white swirly decked halls! Now that being said, I am bigger fellow, or as fat guys are called this time of year "Jolly", so I'll never pass up a chance to TRY new candy, especially one claiming to taste like Twinkies!
THE TASTE TESTING REVIEWING LEGAL STUFF!
Here's my little disclaimer, so that everyone knows I'm not taking money from any of the big snack food or candy cane companies. This is in NO WAY a paid advertisement for or against this Hostess or this type of candy. My wife and I saw the box at the store (where everything used to cost a dollar) and I purchased it with my own $1.25 (plus tax). I am reviewing these candy canes without compensation or promise of payment in any form.
TASTE TEST OF TWINKIES FLAVORED CANDY CANES
The box comes with 6 traditionally shaped canes, and after cracking open the box with my wife... we still have 5 traditionally shaped canes. We split the one in half, ate our parts (I had the handle) and we were done.

I couldn't pin point the taste, but it sure didn't remind me of Twinkies. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't NOT bad. I've had other candy canes, the green and white mint ones and fruity flavored ones, and I'd much rather eat those and traditional peppermint than these.
TASTE TEST OF TWINKIES FLAVORED CANDY CANES: 2ND OPINION
My wife was able to nail down a taste. To her, it tasted like one of those buttered popcorn flavored jelly beans. I never knew those existed, or why my wife didn't share when she had a chance. That's a mark on the naughty list (if Santa is reading this).
Remember, taste is subjective. I'm sure younger kids will eat these up! But for me, I'll stick to the original. Twinkies are perfect just the way they are, no need to try and reinvent themselves for the holidays. Have you tried these & do you agree, or is this new Christmas candy hang deliciously on your tree?
