Are You In The 20% Of Washington Couples Relying on This?
How much do you drink?
Now, how much do you and your partner drink?
Is it separate or together? Socially with friends or on a quiet night in?
My opinion when it comes to drinking is if you’re not hurting anyone or yourself, go for it and have fun. Be responsible.
If it is something that you and your partner can do and help keep each other safe, even better! More power to you!
When that drinking becomes a crutch, that is when the issues can start; it doesn’t take a genius to know that.
I’ve had my fun in my 20s, and even the person I was with at the time enjoyed the fun nights out drinking and enjoying karaoke, but now, older, wiser, calmer, for my wife and I, drinking is not an issue.
That’s why I was a little surprised by a study from TexasDivorceLaws.org that showed couples in Washington feel that alcohol is a big part of their relationship.
1-in-5 Couples Say Alcohol Is A Cornerstone In Their Relationship!
Whether it’s for fun, to blow off steam after a long day, or to “smooth over a disagreement,” couples surveyed reported drinking with their partner an average of 3 times per week.
For those 1-in-5 couples, is drinking really an integral part of the relationship?
The study found that 60% of couples drink because of similar habits, and 47% say it helps in the intimacy department. That can be a scary thing and can be a slippery slope for dependency.
