Check Out: Drive By Lights of Yakima! You Might See Your Home!

Even though we’re halfway through December, it’s still not too late to get decorating your house. Heck, you can act like my family has many times, decorate, and then forget to pull down the lights after the New Year. This, in a way, is smart, so you have a great jump start next year! Why not?!?! I drove through the neighborhoods of West Valley and Selah and took pictures of great houses all decked out in holiday brightness. I decided to take one more trek out with my camera to capture more houses which made me smile. This time my wife & I cruised the neighborhood between 40th & 16th around Yakima Ave & Chestnut.

Every one of these houses is beautiful in its own way! Take a look at them, smile, and maybe get inspired! How do you decorate your dwelling? Whether it’s with lights, blow-up yard ornaments, or projected images, it doesn’t really matter. Get some ideas and get to it! You’re doing something extraordinary, which, believe it or not, is helping people.

It’s no secret that this time of year can be hard for many people. With depression at a high point during the winter, even something as simple as seeing houses decked out with lights and lit up can really brighten some moods (pun not intended).

If you haven’t done it yet, light up your house! Release your inner “Clark Griswold” and decorate for your family & friends. Heck, do it for your neighbors, for your city, and even for the world to see. (I don’t recommend making it so bright that air traffic control has issues, but you know what I mean).
