Mystery Shoe Found Outside Yakima Hardware Store

That is the unforgettable quote from the character Rayford Steele, played by the iconic Nicolas Cage, in the 2014 film Left Behind. A film based on the rapture, something that might have happened to someone at a Yakima hardware store!

My Journey Towards Finding This Shoe!

Last week, while shopping at our local Lowe's Hardware store, I had just unloaded my cart into my truck. Attempting to be a good person and abide by the social contract (that we should all abide by), I was returning my shopping cart to the cart return.

Upon my leaving the cart, I spotted the single shoe, a black, laced, comfy walking (right) shoe, looking to be a size 9 and 1/2. No Foot! No shoeless person around. Could this have been the same situation that Rayford Steele found himself in? Maybe! Probably not, but still, maybe!

How Could Have This Shoe Gotten There?

Several thoughts crossed my mind about how this shoe ended up there:

• Rapture (of a one-legged man, since there was only one shoe, we have to assume that).
• Confused Stork (delivering a baby, but confused and grabbed a shoe instead, noticed its mistake, and just dropped it off).
• Severe Wind Storm (which we’ve been having lately).
• Half off shoe sale with drone delivery.
• Hobo shoe fight, winner takes the left one.
