This past weekend in Moxee, the American Reflection Car Club celebrated the 25th anniversary of their Moxee Car Show.

Drivers of all types showed up to display their beautiful vehicles and share in the love and passion of cars. There were cars from every era and style.

On Sunday, May 18th, in the Moxee Park, over 150 vehicles showed up to enter to win prizes and to show off their cars. I spoke with some of the club associates who ran the event and they said 150 cars entered the event, and about another 50 were there just to show off.

I got to enjoy the beauty of a 1931 racecar; the stories that engine could tell would give me a lifetime of joy. Being a sucker for Mustangs myself, there were certainly enough of them to make this car enthusiast feel giddy with excitement. However, Mustangs weren't the only ponies in the show, I saw some beautiful Broncos that stood out. I myself have never been a massive truck man, however those Broncos were stunning in every way.

There were classic cars like Bonnevilles and Impalas, heck I even saw my first Ford Edsel which was exciting to see. There were also Mercury Cougars, Dodge Challengers, Camaros, and Trans Ams in the show. They even had some extremely creative rat rods that certainly could give those classics a run for their money.

Newer muscle cars from recent years like Mustangs and Camaros were also at the park and some supercharged up, modified to the bone Subarus that looked like great majestic beasts. Those were great to look at but somewhat threatening you to keep your distance, for sure. The power in those machines could go like there's no tomorrow! Someone had even refurbished an old-school fire truck and showed up in it, just in case any of those engines got a little too hot (ha!).

Beyond the Chrome: Stories of a Shared Journey

Everywhere you looked, there were beautiful machines to admire. Many owners had displayed books depicting the story of their vehicle's journey.

Some car owners had forked out to have wonderful signs made, like the heartwarming story from the owner of a 1968 Mercury Cougar. It was the first car the owner had bought, and the car he drove on the first date with his wife. It was also the car that drove them to the hospital to give birth to their first child.

Reading these stories and viewing the history behind these car owners and their lives entangled with the machine, you could see that these were their souls; two passengers. Two passengers on the journey of life, and these were their rides to the great beyond.

A Lifelong Love Affair with Cars

Before we get to the gallery of amazing cars at the show, let me tell you about my lifelong love affair of cars!

I myself grew up collecting posters of getting into cars from buying those Ford Mustangs, Dodge Vipers, and  Chevrolet Corvettes from posters at the book fairs at school, an experience that every millennial will remember very well. From there, it was my uncle who got me into watching Top Gear on BBC, and my passion for cars eventually grew more when my stepdad came into our family. His passion for cars grew even more with me, he took me to one of my first car shows.

Now that I’m an adult and getting the opportunity to see these incredible vehicles in person, this carries a special spot in my heart.

Why I Think You Should Attend Next Year's Car Show

The American Reflection Car Club put on this amazing show for the community of the Yakima Valley for free–they didn't charge for spectators and had great cars and great vendors for people to enjoy the day.

The car club members said they want to double attendance next year and they also want to see 300 cars show up and enter to win and to see cars from all over the PNW make the Yakima Valley a place on the map for their cars.

All I know is I can say nothing but thank you to the team that put on this show. I am sure plenty of time and sweat, and certainly more time, went into putting together this event and they did a wonderful job. I look forward to seeing them next year to celebrate their 26th anniversary next year.

Check this out below: a gallery of the cars you should have been there to see in person!
