Over 60 Ice Cream Products Recalled in Washington & Oregon
Man, last year, when ice cream was hit with a major recall, it was in the middle of summer.
That helped take the sting out of it a little, but this time, it’s more in the beginning, and that just hurts everyone who loves a tasty frozen treat!
Totally Cool, Inc., of Owings Mills, Maryland, has issued a recall for multiple brands of ice cream, backed by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA).
The products were sold nationwide, and are recalled due to the possibility of Listeria contamination.
What is Listeria?
Listeria Monocytogenes is an organism that can cause serious harm, even fatal infections (especially in young children, elderly, or people with poor immune systems).
What Are The Symptoms of Listeria?
Most people may get short-term symptoms like a high fever, stiffness, headache, abdominal pain, nausea, and diarrhea. If you believe you have contacted Listeria, contact your healthcare provider.
