While the sun is shining, the grass is green, and nature all around you is in full summer mode, it’s important to take a break, have some fun, and reawaken the curiosity of when we were younger. And for those of you with little ones, that brings a great opportunity to go touch grass and learn something while you’re at it, with this special free event coming up at the Yakima Area Arboretum.

Jim Christensen will be speaking at the Arboretum (1401 Arboretum Dr, in Yakima) for a two-hour event on Tuesday, June 30th, starting at 6 pm.

“World traveler, photographer, author, and fantastic pen artist Jim Christensen will take you through his travels around the globe by showing his photos and drawings, discussing his time exploring the wonders of our natural world. This presentation will show and talk about mammals and provide context both in a realistic and in some comical senses about their behaviors!?”
Yakima Area Arboretum’s Facebook Event Page.

Not only is Jim all of the things mentioned above, but he also has a very special place in my heart, as he was one of my teachers when I attended Naches. You’re guaranteed to learn a lot from this man.

This special event is FREE to the public, but donations are, as always, greatly appreciated.
