Protect Yourself & Community: Yakima’s Shreds & Meds Event!
It’s time again to help protect yourself and your community with Shreds & Meds Day!
You hear stories about identity theft every day! How it can ruin a person’s finances, credit and even life.
How about the stories in the news about prescription drugs ending up in the wrong hands and being sold, causing harm and ruining and, in some cases, ending lives?
I’ve been the victim of identity theft more than once, so this opportunity is one I do not let pass by.
Thanks to Yakima County Crime Stoppers, SAFE Yakima Valley, and Yakima County Sheriff’s Department, we can celebrate another Shreds & Meds Day and help ourselves and our community.
When & Where Is The Shreds & Meds Event?
Mark your Calendars for April 27th, from 9 am to 1 pm.
This time, the Shreds & Meds day event will be held at The Greater Yakima Chamber of Commerce, 10 N. 9th Street, Yakima.
Got Shreds?
Old financial records, bank documents, old checks, credit card statements, etc., will all be accepted. If you have personal information documentation you no longer need, load it up and bring it down to be safely shredded and disposed of.
Got Meds?
Old prescriptions or medications (pills, patches, cream, etc.) that are no longer needed will be accepted and disposed of safely.

Cost & Limits of Shreds & Meds Day?
This is a free event for the community, although donations are appreciated and will support Yakima Country Crime Stoppers.
There is a limit to how much SHREDS you can bring. They are limited to one shred truck, so when it is full, they will no longer be able to accept shred materials. Because of that, they are limiting the public to 2 banker boxes or 3 grocery bags worth of shred materials (first come, first serve).
THERE IS NO LIMIT ON MEDS TO DISPOSE.
NOTE: PLEASE SEPARATE YOUR SHREDS FROM YOUR MEDS!
