End of An Era! Demolition Has Started On The Last SeaGalley
An end of an era! Earlier this year, it was announced that the Sea Galley Restaurant (the last one in the country), which has fed and entertained customers for nearly 40 years in Union Gap, would be coming to a close.
There was some back and forth on the potential future of the restaurant, with word that the location would be the future home of a Texas Roadhouse restaurant. Many were excited by the news, but when realization about what the valley, and the country, was losing with the final restaurant serving its last crab leg, it became a somber moment.
It wasn't just sad for the hard working staff of the restaurant but for the many people who frequented the place. Whether it was for a usual dinner and drinks, a wild night out, or one of the many many events they have held throughout the decades, the Yakima Valley has lost something very cool.
Another sad moment has happened, with the demolition of the building officially starting today.
"They just finished up the removal of bushes and trees at SeaGalley. They are cutting up the parking lot too!" – Bobby Mendoza Jr.
Bobby Mendoza Jr. posted this picture to the Facebook group WTF Yakima, of the demolition starting at 25 E Valley Mall Blvd. in Union Gap. It is definitely the end of an era here in the valley.
