TEXAS ROADHOUSE COMING TO UNION GAP, WASHINGTON!
We will no longer have to drive an hour and a half to enjoy a tremendous home-cooked Texan/ southwestern cuisine-style meal! Instead of traveling all the way to Kennewick, we now have to take a short trek to Union Gap! The Sea Galley Restaurant location near the Valley Mall parking lot will be the home to the new Texas Roadhouse!
Now, I’m not saying that I’m the reason that the fantastic food chain decided to open up shop here in the Yakima Valley, but I’m sure that it didn’t hurt that back in March, I wrote an Open Letter to Texas Roadhouse asking them to do just what they are planning on doing!
Like many restaurants in today’s landscape, their food is comparable to other establishments. For me, the best comparisons for Texas Roadhouse would be Outback Steak House in Union Gap or the Buzz Inn Steakhouse in Ellensburg. Both restaurants are great, but I am ecstatic we’ll have another place to add to our dining choices here in Yakima!
I am thrilled beyond belief with this news, as long as they do one thing… BRING THE DINNER ROLLS, AND DO NOT FORGET THE CINNAMON BUTTER!
As of this writing (The Yakima Valley Business Times), there is no date set for an opening, but the deal looks to be finalized next month!
Back in May, rumors were swirling that Sea Galley was set to close. When we reached out for comment, we were told that they were not. With this news of Texas Roadhouse taking its place, either the person we talked to was hiding the truth, didn't know, or... a lot has changed in the past couple of months. For the fans and staff of Sea Galley, we know that they'll pull through this change, and we wish them all the best.
