Hey Yakima, Can ‘Nerds’ Rehabilitate Candy Corn’s Image?
To start this 'Timmy Tries' article off, a bit of truth that might change people's opinions of me and my tastes.
I don't mind candy corn.
I don't go out of my way to eat them, but if they're there in a bowl, I'll grab a handful and throw them down the hatch.
Around Halloween, I'd rather eat the 'Candy Pumpkins' that are pretty much differently shaped candy corn, but they taste the same (to me, at least).
My wife found these Nerds Candy Corns and knew that we'd have to try them!
Taste Testing Nerds Candy Corn Legal Disclaimer!
I love Nerds candy, but this is not a paid advertisement. Although I wouldn't be opposed to it being a paid advertisement, I like money; I like Nerds, and they could pay me in Nerds. My doctor probably wouldn't recommend it, especially since I can't pay him in Nerds, but then again, barter systems have been built on less.
Anyway, it is not a paid advertisement; no money or promises of Nerdy work have been exchanged in this review. My wife found them and bought them. Now, let's eat and be Nerdy!
Taste Test of Nerds Candy Corn!
To show you where they rank in my mind:
- Nerds candy: Great!
- Nerds Rope: Good but messy!
- Nerds Gummy Clusters: My favorite! Possibly the perfect fruit candy!
Nerds Candy Corn would be the worst, and for someone who said they don't mind regular candy corn, that's saying a lot.
Right off the bat, they smell fruity, and that's great; then you eat them, and OMG, are they sweet! Too sweet for me, and this is the guy who dunked a Coke Oreo into an Oreo-flavored Coke!
Timmy Tries Oreo Coke & Coke Oreos!
The candy shell is harder than regular candy corn, but not as hard as regular Nerds. inside is chewie, but I really didn't get the candy corn texture until I was trying to unstick it from my teeth with my tongue.
2nd Opinion Taste Test of Nerds Candy Corn
My wife, Stephanie, was my taste tester helper. It only seemed right, considering she bought them for us.
Taste, texture, and general feelings mirrored mine. The cute and funny thing was that she said she didn't think she'd buy them again. But then the bag mysteriously disappeared.
Final Thoughts on Nerds Candy Corn!
If you like sweet and fruity chewie candy, get these. If you LOVE candy corn, these aren't for you.
As for the disappearing bag, I was later informed that they were hidden. 'Out of sight, out of mind!' For my wife, this is the type of candy that, when they're out on the counter, you'll grab and eat out of boredom. She was right, after she showed me the hiding spot... well let's just say, they're REALLY hidden now.
