I'm not saying I had anything to do with Bacon Cheddar Potato Wedges coming back on the menu, but the timing is a little too suspicious. Back in June, I wrote an open letter commenting how they were off the menu and how they should return! I had hoped to start a movement with Jack in the Box, much like the events surrounding Taco Bell's Mexican Pizza's triumphant return!

I swung by Jack's drive-through for lunch today, and my jaw dropped when I saw what was back (at least for a limited time)! The wedges I loved and missed were now back in all their cheesy goodness! In two different forms, classic and spicy, although the classic is different from the classic I remember!

THE TASTE TESTING REVIEWING LEGAL STUFF!

As always, this is in NO WAY a paid advertisement for or against this fast food company. I purchased the wedges with my own money and am reviewing them without compensation or promise of payment in any form.

The wedges were originally taken off the menu in 2019. Since then we've had to make our own from deli Jojo's, cheese dip and bacon bits. They weren't bad, but not quite the same. So, when I saw the sticker banner on the restaurant's window, I was happy, but they looked... off. Something had changed (and I'm not talking about the new spicy version).

Yes, you could argue that these are different because these are called "Sauced & Loaded Wedges" and not the original "Bacon Cheddar Potato Wedges" from yester-year, but if that is truly the case, why would they have "They're Back" and "Classic" written on the sign? I know, I'm being hangry, I just don't feel you should mess with perfection, and that's what they did.

At first glance, I thought they might have used two different types of cheese sauce. But, nope. To the best of my taste buds, the white sauce is the "Onion-Mayo" that you usually find on their hamburgers. It is not bad, but it is not needed. The wedges are smaller then what they where, but it's still potatoes, so no big deal there. The mayo adds a different take on the flavor, but like I wrote earlier, the "classic" didn't need any improving.

I have not tried the "Spicy" wedges yet, but with the wedges being back "for a limited time", we shall see if I get around to it. As far as the taste and will I get them again? They're good, and probably.
