I have a handful of my favorite places to eat in Yakima and the surrounding Valley: Famous Dave's, Outback Steak House, Winey Dogs, Bob's Burgers, Jean's Cottage Inn, Red Robin, Bron Yr Aur, Selah Springs Brewing Co., Texas Roadhouse, Flame & Brew, Great Shanghai, Tea Garden, Mongolian Grill  (just to name a few).

But the other night, my wife and I ventured to El Porton on Tieton Dr. (while we wait for the Union Gap location to re-open).

I'm a creature of habit; I have my 3 or so meals that I rotate and my standard drink I get at different restaurants.

When I have Spanish food, for some reason, Root Beer tastes the best to me. So, that is my go-to drink when I'm there.

The server brought me back this giant punchbowl margarita-sized glass filled with Root Beer! I had many questions and was filled with such joy! Just look at it!

Did the server mishear me and bring me something that wasn't a Root Beer?

Nope, it was a Root Beer! I jokingly asked if the other glasses were broken, and he just laughed. Which just led to more questions and an even bigger smile!

The Questions You Have When Served With A Giant Glass Of Root Beer!

Did ALL the regular glasses break?

Do they know I drink a lot, so they're really taking care of me?

Do they have a new guy in the back pouring drinks?

Do they have a private bet to see how many of these bad boys I can drink? (2 full ones FYI).

Will it taste better served in a bigger glass? (It did).

Should I leave a bigger tip? (I did).

Will I need to use the restroom before we leave after so much Root Beer? (I did not, I'm a camel).

Will the other patrons in the restaurant realize it's soda?

Will the other patrons ever stop staring? (They didn't).

Am I special and the only one they have ever done this for?

Is this their new policy for Root Beer?

Would this have happened if I ordered a Pepsi? My wife didn't get a special glass with her Iced Tea.

Did I screw up and accidentally order a 'Big Ass Root Beer'?

Did they put it in a special glass because we sat in the bar section, and they wanted me to feel more like an adult?

I may never know why I received such a big glass, but no matter the reason, I enjoyed it, and it gave me a fun story to share!
